Kind Humans Help Cat’s Owners Care For A Poor Sweet Kitty

When I first read this Reddit thread, my heart stopped. This week u/NotAllowedUserName posted an incredibly sad story about their neighbors moving but abandoning and leaving behind their indoor cat. The Redditor was conflicted because they already had another cat at home. So, even though this cat was so sweet and so sad to have been left all alone, they weren't sure they'd be able to take him in.

Comments started pouring in from other concerned Redditors who wanted to make sure that the cat found a safe home. A lot of other people had some choice words for the owners that left the poor cat all alone, but we won't be repeating those words here. Anyway, so many people said that u/NotAllowedUserName should adopt the cat. Even more people said they wished they could adopt him themselves. And eventually– thankfully– after going through all the comments and sourcing advice from the community, they did in fact decide to keep the cat. Hooray!

So, after a few weeks of finalizing the move, it sounds like this adorable boy has vet appointments, a new home, and soon will have a new sibling to play with too! These new owners now just have to introduce their two cats the right way– but they got advice about that in the comments section too! Can you believe that this sweet kitty got left behind by those mean, awful owners? I was incensed when I read the post title, and then even more so when I saw that sweet face. Lots of users chimed in to talk about their gray cats at home, claiming that they are the sweetest and the calmest of all the cats. I have to say, me and my tabby might disagree, but maybe we all can hang out one day and talk about it.

Loads of Folks Wanted To Adopt This Sweet Cat

One of the sweetest comments in this entire Reddit thread was from user u/JessterJo who helped the cat's new owners look up rescue organizations nearby– before they decided to keep the cat of course! The organization they mentioned, Heart of a Lion, services Southeast Charlotte, NC and Upstate SC and cares for cats and kittens that are either abandoned or rescued from high kill shelters in the two states. Organizations like this exist all around the world, so if you're ever in a pinch, hop on Google– or Reddit– and try to find one like this!
